For those looking to broaden their cultural and culinary horizons, look no further than the Jewish Food Festival, the largest event of its kind in the San Gabriel and Pomona Valleys.

This event will be held on April 7 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Library Park in the City of Monrovia. Presented by the Jewish Federation of the Greater San Gabriel and Pomona Valleys, the Jewish Food Festival seeks to raise awareness of Jewish culture within the rest of the community by using the universal language of food. Guests can expect to travel to food booths, each owned by a local Jewish organization, and sample their offerings. There will be traditional Jewish eats, including: rugelach, matzah ball soup, and noodle kugel, as well as other Middle Eastern dishes, such as kebabs and falafels. Bagels, brisket sandwiches, and more will cater to those guests unfamiliar with Jewish flavors.

Beyond the food booths, there will be much more for guests to discover. All-day musical entertainment will be provided, including children’s artist Jason Mesches and gypsy-rock band Mostly Kosher. For art enthusiasts, there will be a visual arts exhibition that will showcase the work of Jewish artists within the community. And for the children, a kids’ zone which will feature: bounce houses, arts and crafts, a fire truck and more.

“We wanted to make it appealing to not just the Jewish community but the non-Jewish community, as well,” said Jason Moff, executive director of the Jewish Federation, regarding the variety of food options and activities available to guests.

The event is free to attend and open to the public. The food booths and kids zone activities will require a ticket, which can be purchased online prior to the day of the event. Tickets are $1 each, or $20 for 22 tickets. For more information, contact the Jewish Federation at the number (626) 445-0810.
