STREET CLOSURE INFORMATION FOR INAUGURAL PASADENA ROCK ’N’ ROLL HALF MARATHON

General Event Information

The Inaugural Pasadena Rock’n’Roll Half Marathon is set for Sunday, Feb. 19, and will feature a half-marathon race starting and ending at the Rose Bowl Stadium. The course will wind through historic landmarks and business districts and will feature live entertainment at key spectator spots and at the finish line concert featuring “Sugar Ray.”

Day of Event Schedule: Sunday, Feb. 19

6:30 a.m. Police Department secures route

7:30 a.m. Half marathon starts

9:15 a.m. Awards ceremony

10:00 a.m. Finish-line concert

Noon Finish-line festival ends

1:00 p.m. Rolling reopening of all streets will be finished by this time

Street Closures on Race Day, Sunday, Feb. 19

Beginning at 6:30 a.m. on race day, Pasadena Police will begin closing down the course with restricted vehicular access only through designated intermittent traffic control points. Residents and visitors should expect delays when traveling within the city. As the race progresses, streets will gradually be reopened. All are expected to be reopened by 1 p.m. Please refer to the street closure map at www.cityofpasadena.net/specialevents/rock_n_roll/ to see when streets will reopen in various neighborhoods.

Parking Information for Residents and Businesses

In preparation for the event, the route will be posted with temporary “No Parking” restrictions. In addition, the issuance of overnight parking citations will be suspended the morning of Sunday, Feb. 19. During this time, overnight parking permits will NOT be required to park on city streets near the route. Residents should park outside of the immediate race route to have access to their vehicles during the day. Cars parked anywhere along the route after 2 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 19, will be towed by Pasadena Police. Please be aware of posted signs (both temporary and fixed) with additional restrictions. If your car is towed on race day, please call (626) 577-6458 to locate your vehicle. All towed vehicles will be stored at a temporary impound lot located at Central Library, 285 E. Walnut Street, until 1 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 19.

134 Freeway Off-ramp Closure

The Orange Grove/Colorado off-ramp on the 134 freeway will be closed from 6:30 to 11:45 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 19. All other freeway ramps will remain open. Please plan your travel accordingly.

Business districts, neighborhood associations and churches in proximity to the route can find neighborhood-specific directions to help navigate around closures on the city’s event website at www.cityofpasadena.net/specialevents/rock_n_roll/.

Transit Detours

Some Metro and Foothill Transit Lines will have temporary bus stop closures and/or be re-routed on Sunday, Feb. 19. Please contact Metro at (323) 466-38766 or Foothill Transit at (800) 743-3463 for more information about service advisories.
