The K12 Public School at Home Tour – a traveling, interactive mobile unit – will roll into Los Angeles on June 27 and make its first California visit at the California Virtual Academies’ office. The K12 Public School at Home Tour is crossing the country this summer on a mission to demonstrate how online education options have advanced and can be personalized to better fit parents’ and students’ needs. K12-powered schools combine K12’s interactive and engaging curriculum with dedicated, California-credentialed teachers, an active community, and Individualized Learning Plans for each student. California online schooling options powered by K12 include the California Virtual AcademiesiQ Academy California-Los Angeles, and Insight Schools of California.

The fun and engaging tour experience features a colorful, inviting space with six distinctive areas that introduce parents and students to the curricula and opportunities offered through a virtual, K12 program. Visitors can test actual K12-powered lessons, take part in hands-on educational activities, learn to code with robots, have fun with augmented reality and interact directly with local school administrators and educators.

“We know there are lots of parents in the Los Angeles area who are curious about what public school at home means, and how it might work for their family. This tour provides a great opportunity for us to showcase the high-quality, personalized education programs available through our tuition-free online public schools,” said April Warren, head of schools for California Virtual Academies. “Public school at home is a growing trend in both California and the nation, so we’re thrilled to be able to personally connect with families to share information and answer their questions.”

K12 will be at Kidspace Children’s Museum (480 North Arroyo Blvd., Pasadena) on Friday, June 29 from 9:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.
