If there’s one thing we love doing here at LA CANVAS, it’s indulging in a well-crafted cocktail. Unfortunately, most of us in the office weren’t blessed with a natural inclinitation toward mixology and all its voodoo magic. Thankfully, our friends over at Stefan’s at LA Farm in Santa Monica know what’s up. We warmed up by their fire pits and took the liberty of sampling an assortment of holiday-themed cocktails, all in the name of research, of course. We’re happy to report the holiday concoctions were delicious, and we’ve shared their recipes with you below so you too can celebrate the holidays in refined booze-filled revelry.

Pumpkin Pie Martini

2 oz Pumpkin Pie Filling
2 oz Rum Chata
1 oz Vanilla Vodka

Cinnamon Sugar & Crushed graham Cracker for rim.
Wet the rim of a martini glass and dip into mixture of cinnamon sugar and crushed graham cracker.
Add first 3 ingredients into a shaker with ice, mix, strain into rimmed martini glass

Red Delicious Sangria

1 bottle white wine
2 Red Delicoius apples, cored and cut into bit size pieces
1 orange, sliced
1 Tbs honey
½ C Bourbon
5 Cinnamon sticks
1 Tbs all spice
1 Tbs nutmeg
1 Tbs black pepper corns
1 Tps ground ginger

In a large bowl or pot, add fruit and soak in bourbon and honey for 1 hour.
Add wine
Put all dry ingredients (except for Cinnamon sticks) into a cheese cloth, secure shut with a rubber band, and add to wine fruit mixture.
Let steep for at least 12 hours, remove cheese cloth.
Serve over ice in a tall glass, garnish with Cinnamon Stick.
Serves 4-5.

 Grumpy Old Man

1 oz Bourbon
1 oz Gin
1 oz Lime Juice
2 dashed of Bitters
Ginger Ale

Add first 4 ingredients together in a Collins glass over ice.
Top with Ginger Ale.
Garnish with Lime Wedge.

The Reaper

1/5 oz white rum (Bacardi)
1/5 oz simple syrup (equal parts sugar and water, mix until dissolved)
1/5 lime juice
1 oz red wine (merlot)

Mix first 3 ingredients into a cocktail shaker, mix with ice, strain into a martini glass
Use a spoon, place upright, along the martini glass at the top of the liquor, slowly pour red wine onto the spoon, as you go the red wine with spill into the drink and float on top.
