Firefighters on Wednesday contained several separate brush fires in the Hansen Dam Recreation Area.

The fire was reported about 1:15 p.m. near the 11700 block of Foothill Boulevard, according to Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Air and ground crews were sent on reports of “as many as three separate spot fires within the Hansen Dam Recreation Area,” Humphrey said, though firefighters were able to contain the blaze by about 2:10 p.m. and mapping placed the fires at less than two acres.

No structures were threatened and no injuries were reported.

Firefighters were again called to the Hansen Dam Recreation Area about 7:30 p.m. on reports of three additional brush fires, and crews managed to contain those fires to less than one acre by 8:50 p.m.

No injuries or structure damage was reported in either fire, and it was not immediately clear if they were connected to one another.

The cause of the fires was under investigation.
