3.4 M earthquake strikes near LAX, felt throughout Los Angeles

A 3.4 magnitude earthquake with an epicenter near Los Angeles International Airport in West Los Angeles was reported at 5:08 PM Wednesday, according to the United States Geological Survey.

The USGS’s “Did You Feel It” online tool showed that residents reported feeling the tremor as far north as Van Nuys and as far south as Rancho Palos Verdes as of 5:30 P.M. ET.

The official epicenter of the quake was placed about 2.5 miles north-northeast of El Segundo. The quake struck at a depth of about 7 miles.

No damage was reported at the time of this publication.
