Newcomers and Friends of San Gabriel Valley, a social club, invites local women to attend their June general meeting. New members can expect to make new friends, explore well-known landmarks, and enjoy new activities.

On June 6, at 10:00 a.m., Newcomers and Friends of SGV’s “meet-and-greet” coffee will be held in the Fireside Room at Santa Anita Church, 226 West Colorado Blvd., in Arcadia. Free tickets are available from Eventbrite.

This general meeting is a great way to meet the members of Newcomers and Friends, and learn about the club’s wide variety of daytime activities. Anyone interested in joining is welcome to attend the event.

Additional weekday activities include a book club, bridge, crafting, day trips, games (Bunco, Rummikub, etc.), golf, hiking, happy hour, Lunch Bunch, Mahjong, movies, and wine tasting.

The incoming President, Marti Garlett, and her Board will be installed at a luncheon in a local restaurant on June 13.

This group currently has 130 members and has existed since 1965.
