The time has finally arrived for the Monrovia Wildcats, as the football team’s first game of the 2018 season is just around the corner.
It’s been a long and busy summer for Monrovia after somewhat underachieving last season, easily taking the Rio Hondo League title but falling to Yorba Linda in the opening round of CIF playoffs.
Despite the shortcomings, newly hired Head Coach Chris Williams is ready to breathe some new life into a talented Monrovia squad that only went 4-7 in 2017.
Plenty of training was done over the summer that paid dividends in several passing tournaments where the Wildcats showed a lot of promise.
Monrovia has a 10-game schedule on their plate with nonleague match-ups against Burbank, Alta Loma, and Don Lugo. The team will then begin Rio League play on Oct. 5 with a clash of the cats against the South Pasadena Tigers.
