Arcadia High School student Ian Howe (Pronounced How, the E is silent) plays Taps at the Field of Honor at the Arcadia County Park. More than 1,000 American flags make up the Field of Honor which was created to pay tribute in Arcadia to the brave men and women who have or are currently serving our country, law enforcement, firefighters, and community members. Each evening at 6 o’clock sharp a different student from Arcadia High School donates their time and talents by playing Taps. The Field of Honor, which was created by the Arcadia Rotary Club, was built on Sunday and will be on display through Memorial Day on Monday. Flags can be purchased for 50 dollars and dedicated to loved ones. Proceeds will benefit the Veterans Memorial in Arcadia and local Rotary charities.
