A 45-year-old man who has diabetes and has been diagnosed with severe depression was reported missing, authorities said Thursday.

Jose Elmer Deras was last seen around 2 a.m. Monday in Maywood on the 8200 block of Wilcox Avenue, said Deputy Brenda Serna of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.

Deras is Latino, 5 feet, 9 inches tall, weighs 198 pounds, has brown eyes and brown hair, a full beard and a broken front tooth. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and black pants.

Deras has a tattoo of a skull on his right leg, a tattoo of a bird on his left leg and has a possible destination of a river bed on Clara Street and River Road in Cudahy, Serna said.

Anyone with information about Deras or knows of his whereabouts was asked to call the Sheriff’s Missing Persons Unit at 323-890-5500. Anonymous tips can be called into Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477 or submitted online at lacrimestoppers.org.
