Only two more sleeps until the Wine Walk on April 23! Do you have your tickets yet?

The last event sold out, so I highly recommend you don’t dilly dally any longer. Presale tickets are $40, but the price at the door will be $50, and there will only be a limited number of tickets available at that time. You can pre-purchase your tickets at the Community Center and Charlie’s House.

Check-in will be held at Library Park. You can choose to start (or end) your tasting at Sealey Strength at 202 S. Myrtle. Your wine tasting journey will take you down Myrtle and its adjacent side streets, ending in the 600 block of Myrtle. There are a lot of wonderful stops along the way, so plot your route accordingly.

Thanks to sponsors Lone Star Percussion, Mark Houston Associates & Gina Willard Insurance, the city will be providing some great music to entertain you along your way. This event is a FUN-tastic way to visit local businesses that you have never been to and meet a ton of fun locals along the way.  Be sure to take advantage of the photo opportunities in between sipping and shopping.

On Friday, April 22, join the Canyon Park Team at Library Park from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. There will be crafts, giveaways and information booths.  This is a free event and a fun way to learn new ways to make some great changes that will benefit you and your community.

On Saturday, April 23, continue the Earth & Arbor Day-themed celebration at 10am at Mary Knolls Sisters Property located at 300 Norumbega Dr. This free event is sponsored by Grow Monrovia. Be sure to take advantage of Ask an Arborist, where you can ask a trained arborist questions regarding your mature trees and attend a workshop on proper planting techniques for new trees. There will be a shade tree giveaway for residents, as well as fruit tree giveaways for churches and other community spaces. Make sure to bring your kiddos, because at 11 a.m., there will be a Junior Forester workshop. What a wonderful way to get your children involved, while teaching them the value and benefits of native tree planting.

Don’t forget to mark your calendars for April 30! The Monrovia Area Partnership team is thrilled to bring you the 12th Annual MAP Conference LIVE & IN PERSON! The conference takes place from 9a.m. – 3 p.m., at the Second Baptist Church, located at 925 S. Shamrock Ave.

The theme of this year’s event is “Be the Light – Coming Out Better & Stronger.” This event is free for the entire community. Breakfast snacks and lunch will be provided by our generous sponsors. There will be information booths, free health screenings, raffle giveaways and some fantastic workshops, such as: Addressing Our Environment, Top 10 Secret Resources in Monrovia, Is Your Home a Historic Landmark, Active Shooter Training, the History of Monrovia and more. Please visit www.mapneighborhoodconference.com for more information and to register.

April is almost over, but there are a ton of awesome events coming up! Don’t miss out on these activities, brought to you by our city and its affiliates. These are all great ways to get out and join your community in making Monrovia a better place to live, work and play.
