A 30-year-old man was found fatally wounded in a courtyard at an apartment building in Long Beach, authorities said Sunday.

The shooting victim was identified as Cesar Hernandez of Long Beach, the Long Beach Police Department reported.

The shooting was reported at about 11 p.m. Saturday in the 3300 block of 67th Street, according to Lt. Paul Esko.

Officers arriving at the scene reported Hernandez lying on the ground in the courtyard of an apartment building, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the upper and lower body.

Paramedics took him to a hospital where he died, the lieutenant said.

Long Beach homicide detectives urged anyone with information regarding the homicide to call them at 562-570-7244 or Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477. To issue an anonymous tip online, go to lacrimestoppers.org.
