An alleged robbery suspect on a motorcycle or small motorized bike surrendered in South El Monte Thursday morning after leading police on a chase through the East San Gabriel Valley.
The chase, which began around 11:40 p.m. Wednesday, ended just after midnight when the suspect fell of the cycle in an unincorporated area off San Gabriel Boulevard, according to CBS LA, which reported the suspect was wanted for robbery.
The suspect tried a variety of maneuvers to avoid Los Angeles Police Department officers, including driving the wrong way on the Pomona (60) Freeway and hiding in a recreational area before surrendering, according to CBS LA.
The chase reached speeds of up to 60 mph.
