A 27-year-old Covina man fatally shot in La Puente was publicly identified Friday by the county coroner’s office.
Edgar Benitez was pronounced dead at the scene of the shooting, which occurred about 9:55 a.m. Thursday in the 18600 block of Villa Park Street, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The sheriff’s department did not release any information on the circumstances of the shooting.
No arrests were reported, and no suspect description was released.
