Jan. 3
At 12:41 p.m., an officer responded to 88 Beef Noodle, 1045 S. Baldwin Ave., regarding a theft report. The suspect ordered food and while the employee walked away to retrieve change, the suspect stole her wallet and fled the scene. The suspect is described as a male Asian, approximately 20 years old, 5-foot-10 with an average build, dark hair and eyes, wearing dark clothes and a face mask. The investigation is ongoing.
At 5:42 p.m., officers responded to the area of Huntington Drive and Holly Avenue regarding a traffic accident that had just occurred. A vehicle making a left turn hit a subject who was crossing lanes of traffic. The pedestrian was transported to a hospital to care for his injuries.
Jan. 4
At 8:24 a.m., officers responded to a residence in the 700 block of Arcadia Avenue regarding a domestic disturbance. The victim claimed she and her boyfriend were arguing about money for rent when he slapped her face, then pulled her arm and her hair. She called the police and he fled the scene before officers arrived at the location. The investigation is ongoing.
At 8:14 p.m., an officer working inside the Arcadia Police Department received a telephone call from a victim reporting a theft. The theft occurred at a residence in the 400 block of West Foothill Boulevard. The victim stated that she rents a room and shares the residence with multiple roommates. An unknown suspect entered her locked room by unknown means and stole several thousands of dollars. The investigation is ongoing.
At 8:16 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 00 block of West Le Roy Avenue regarding an audible alarm. An investigation revealed an unknown suspect(s) forced entry into the residence by smashing a rear sliding glass door. The suspect(s) ransacked the bedrooms and fled the scene with an unknown amount of property.
Jan. 5
At 8:48 a.m., an officer responded to Hampton Inn, located at 311 E. Huntington Drive, regarding a vehicle burglary report. The victim stated that sometime during the previous evening, someone damaged the locked door handle and entered his GMC van. The suspect(s) fled with miscellaneous tools. The investigation is pending a review of any available surveillance footage.
At 9:21 a.m., an officer responded to the Arcadia Recreation Center, located at 375 W. Huntington Drive, regarding a catalytic converter theft. The reporting party discovered the catalytic converter had been stolen from one of the city vehicles during the previous weekend.
At 3:14 p.m., an officer responded to the 00 block of El Dorado Street regarding a catalytic converter theft. The officer determined the catalytic converter had been cut from the victim’s Honda Element sometime between Dec. 31 at 2 p.m. and Jan. 1 at 1 p.m. The investigation is pending a review of nearby surveillance footage.
Jan. 6
At 2:21 p.m., an officer responded to Alex Di Peppe’s Italian Restaurant, located at 508 E. Live Oak Ave., regarding a burglary investigation. The victim discovered his front window had been shattered and the cash register, containing loose change, had been stolen. The victim stated he would review the location’s surveillance footage.
At 2:36 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 1100 block of South Tenth Avenue regarding numerous package thefts over the past few months. The victim stated the first package theft occurred in July of 2020, then a second one a few months later, and the most recent occurred on January 5th. The total loss for all of the stolen items amounted to approximately $1,660. There are no investigative leads at this time.
Jan. 7
At 12:27 p.m., an officer responded to Tierra Verde Park, located at 200 E. Camino Real, regarding a theft from a vehicle report. The officer concluded the victim’s purse was stolen from her unsecured vehicle. The officer was unable to locate any further evidence.
At 4:42 p.m., an officer took a telephonic report of a vandalism that occurred in the 500 block of Walnut Avenue. The victims found that her mailbox had been pried open sometime during the previous night. It is unknown if the suspect fled with stolen mail or not.
At 5:48 p.m., officers responded to the 200 block of South Santa Anita Avenue regarding a suspect, armed with a knife, trying to steal the victim’s vehicle. An investigation revealed the victim encountered the suspect inside his vehicle and attempting to start it. When the victim confronted the suspect, the suspect then pointed a knife at the victim. The victim backed away and called 9-1-1. Officers arrived and located the suspect. The 40-year-old male from Arcadia was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking. He was also charged with being in possession of a controlled substance.
Jan. 9
At 2:07 p.m., an officer responded to Icar Lifestyle, located at 414 Rolyn Place, regarding a commercial burglary report. Surveillance footage revealed the suspect pried open a front window and ransacked the business, fleeing with electronics and uniforms. Officers located the suspect nearby and arrested a 33-year-old male transient from Arcadia. He was transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
