Beginning Monday, March 23, the City of Monrovia will once again close Canyon Park and the Hillside Wilderness Preserve. The city attempted to leave these recreational areas open but too many people visited the facilities over the weekend and did not practice social distancing.

Additionally, the order disallows the gathering of 10 people or more. The city is postingnotices to discourage any gatherings at the basketball courts, baseball fieldand skate park.

According toMonday’s City Manager’s Updated the city “deeply apologize for theinconvenience and ask all residents, guests and visitors to find alternatemeans of recreation which you can do in small groups, maintain 6 feet ofseparation and comply with the Safer at Home Health Order.”
