Do you have products that are too toxic to put in your garbage bin? Some examples might include paint, solvents, chemicals, e-waste (or electronic waste) and sharps containers. Luck for you the County of Los Angeles Public Works Department, along with the Sanitation Districts of Los Angeles County, are offering a free household hazardous and e-waste recycling round up on Saturday, Jan. 26, from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. This event will take place at the Huntington Millennium Center, between Myrtle and Mayflower.

There will be a limit of 15 gallons, or 125 pounds, of hazardous waste per trip. This event will not be accepting business waste, explosives, ammunition, radioactive materials, common household waste, tires, large appliances, or controlled substances. You can prepare your items by Place them in a sturdy box, preferably in their original, labeled containers. Do not mix products together in a container. There will be a limit of 15 gallons or 125 pounds per vehicle. Be prepared to leave containers and boxes at the site. Remove all other items from you trunk, and please remain in your vehicle during collection.

If you have any questions about this event, or what qualifies, please call (800) 238-0172 or visit 888CleanLA.com.
