Parson’s Nose Theater presents original play

Parson’s Nose Theater (PNT) kicks off its 2018-19 season with “Mark Twain and Friends: A River Journey.” This is an original play by Los Angeles playwright and actor, Greg White. The production is partly sponsored by the City of Pasadena Cultural Affairs Department and will run from Oct. 20 – Nov. 18. It begins the second season in their new home, an intimate, historic chapel designed by esteemed Pasadena architects Marston and Van Pelt in 1911.

“Mark Twain returns from the beyond to introduce some of the characters he met in his travels,” explains Director Gary Lamb. “This is a wonderful, family-friendly piece that goes deep into very topical subjects such as prejudice, religion, and education, with Twain’s signature humor and pathos.

The production stars the PNT Company, featuring Paul Perri as Mark Twain. Perri will be seen as Trent Lott in the upcoming film “Vice” with Christian Bale. He has played in dozens of films and TV shows, including “The Insider,” “Manhunter,” “Demolition Man,” “Rizzoli & Isles,” “Prison Break,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” and “The West Wing” to name a few. He made his Broadway debut with Ireni Papas in “The Bacchae,” replaced John Malkovich in “Burn This,” and appeared in Broadway productions of “A View From the Bridge” and “Macbeth.”

Parson’s Nose Theater is located at 95 N. Marengo Ave. in Pasadena. Single ticket prices are $35 for adults, $25 for seniors, and $20 for students. Reservations can be made online at parsonsnose.com or by calling (626) 403-7667.
