The Prelude Luncheon commencing the Woman’s Civic League’s 108th year of service to its members and the community was held on Sept. 10 at the Women’s City Club of Pasadena. Past presidents of the league are traditionally honored at this luncheon. This year those present to be recognized for their years of service were Rita Sahlein (2000-2002), Marilyn Stalder-Burke (2004-2006), Suzie Vernand (2006-2008), Katie Ryland (2011-2014), Barbara Cole (2014-2016), and Lisa Fowler (2017-2018).

The League itself was honored to have as its guest speaker Mandy Templeton, manager of the Pasadena Citizen Service Center. The Pasadena Citizen Service Center began in 2014 and serves as the city’s premier customer service group which currently takes in 90,000-plus contacts and creates over 25,000 service requests each year from residents and visitors. The Citizen Service Center strives to provide the public with quick, easy access to all Pasadena government services while maintaining the highest possible level of customer service. For more information about joining The Woman’s Civic League contact Membership Chairman Lela Bissner at lbissner@gmail.com and visit wclpasadena.org for the photo gallery and league history.
