 The Pasadena Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Pasadena City College and Leadership Pasadena presents Mission Match: A Non-Profit Job Fair in Creveling Lounge at Pasadena City College, Wednesday, March 7th from 3 pm-7 pm. There is no charge for exhibitors or job seekers. There will be no commission-only or multi-level marketing companies at the job fair. Pasadena City College is at 1570 East Colorado Boulevard in Pasadena. Inexpensive $2 parking is available in the student parking lot off Hill Street and Del Mar Boulevard.

Statistics from a recent Gallup poll suggest that roughly 70% of American workers aren’t fully engaged at their place of employment. More and more people are seeking meaningful work. Mission Match: A Non-Profit Job Fair connects job seekers with organizations that can help them pursue their passion in our local communities while making a living with a local non-profit organization.

Free Get Hired – Stay Hired workshop, Saturday, February 24th from 9AM-12PM for job seekers hosted by Pasadena Chamber of Commerce, Foothill Workforce Development Board and EDD

Whether you are unemployed, underemployed or seeking a new opportunity the Get Hired – Stay Hired workshop is for you. All workshop participants will have the opportunity to receive a resume tutorial in order to craft a stand out resume, gain interview skills and practice while getting an inside scoop on local organizations and businesses hiring in advance of the Mission Match Job Fair in March. The Get Hired – Stay Hired workshop will be held at the Employment Development Department and Foothill Workforce Development Board offices at 1207 East Green Street in Pasadena. There is free parking in the adjacent lot and on the street.

According to Job Market Experts, 98% of job seekers are eliminated at the initial resume screening. Because of these staggering statistic Industry experts from the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce, the Foothill Workforce Development Board, California’s Employment Development Department and Leadership Pasadena will coach participants on how to get hired and stay hired. Mission Match: A Non-Profit Job Fair is one of many work-based learning initiatives undertaken by the Pasadena Chamber with our community partners. Those efforts include summer intern placements, job shadowing for high school student, classroom speakers from the business community and mentoring.
