The Altadena Town Council has sent a letter to Pasadena’s Mayor and Police Chief demanding that Pasadena Police officers Esparza and Lujan be proscribed from policing anywhere in Altadena, that the PPD reform its use of force policy, that the PPD provide regular reports to the Town Council on all incidents involving the PPD in Altadena, etc. :

This unprecedentedly bold letter reflects the outrage of Altadena residents who spoke of the Nov. 9th, 2017 Pasadena Police beating of Altadena resident Chris Ballew, 21, at the January Altadena Town Council meeting. That meeting opened with the Council President intoning that the incident had nothing to do with Altadena, that it was strictly a Pasadena problem.  Apparently the Council has gotten the message that residents don’t agree.
