Leesa, an online direct-to-consumer luxury mattress company, will hold a donation event for Hillsides, a Southern California foster care charity. The company will give away 111 mattresses to youth and families Hillsides serves. Leesa is donating the mattresses in partnership with radio and TV personality Dr. Drew Pinsky, a long-time supporter of Hillsides. Dr. Drew, who hosts the daily KABC radio show, “Dr. Drew Midday Live with Mike Catherwood,” will broadcast his show at a Hillsides site the day of the event and speak at the event.

Hillsides, founded in 1913, is dedicated to healing children and young adults, strengthening families, and transforming communities through quality comprehensive services and advocacy. The nonprofit serves 13,000 children and families in Southern California.

Based in Virginia Beach, Va., Leesa is a direct-to-consumer online luxury mattress company that offers mattresses made in the USA, delivered directly to consumers’ doors. Leesa donates one mattress for every 10 they sell, and has provided more than 18,000 mattresses to date to nonprofits that serve people seeking refuge from homelessness, domestic risk and human trafficking.

The youth and families Hillsides serves often lack the basics to help them find financial and emotional stability. Providing those in need with mattresses will be affirming and even life-changing for those on a path to a better life.

The mattress donation will be at Hillsides’ Youth Moving On program, which serves youth transitioning from foster care to adulthood, located at 650 N. Oakland Ave., Pasadena, CA 91101.

The broadcast of the “Dr. Drew Midday Live with Mike Catherwood,” show will take place a block away at the Youth Moving on Peer Resource Center, located at 456 E. Orange Blvd., Suite 140, Pasadena, CA 91104 on Wednesday, Aug. 30.

The live broadcast of “Dr. Drew Midday Live with Mike Catherwood” will take place from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.

The event will take place from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., and will start with a short program at 4:15 p.m. featuring speakers David Wolfe, co-founder and CEO of Leesa; Joseph M. Costa, president and CEO of Hillsides; and Dr. Drew

Video and photo opportunities of Dr. Drew and Mike Catherwood during the broadcast and the clients picking up their mattresses will be available.
