Mayfield Cubs struck down by Carnegie Schools Riverside on Tuesday May 23, in the second round of the division VII playoff bracket.
The juggernaut offense of Mayfield was nonexistent as they were shut down the whole game. The Cubs were not able to string enough hits to score any runs. Mayfield had been averaging almost 20 runs per game before being stopped in their tracks. The Wolverines were able to score three runs which was more than enough.
Mayfield High School was eliminated from the playoffs, ending their season at 15-8.
