Teenager Killed in Solo Traffic Accident Near Rose Bowl

The Pasadena Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team is investigating a fatal traffic collision involving a single vehicle that occurred on Sunday, May 8, 2016 at about 2:49 am.
A silver 2002 BMW 330i was being driven by a 17 year old male White Pasadena resident, south on West Dr. The driver lost control of the car near Seco St. and struck a light pole. The driver and sole occupant of the car sustained fatal injuries as a result of the collision. He was pronounced deceased at the scene of the accident by Pasadena Fire Department personnel. No other cars were involved in the accident.
The investigation into the cause of the collision is ongoing. The identity of the driver is currently being withheld pending notification to his family. Anyone with information should call Lieutenant Pete Hettema at (626) 744-7159 or the Watch Commander at (626) 744-4620.
