April 24

Just after 4:38 p.m., an officer conducted an enforcement stop near the intersection of Baldwin Avenue and Huntington Drive for expired registration. While talking to the driver, the officer noticed a pry bar that had been reshaped into a weapon inside of the vehicle. The 28-year-old male from Monrovia was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

Around 8:15 p.m., an officer responded to 7-Eleven, 1003 S. Baldwin Ave., regarding an activation of an Arcadia Police Department GPS tracker. Arcadia PD detectives had previously deployed decoy bait bicycles to combat the increase in bike thefts throughout the city. The officer discovered a 24-year-old male from Pasadena was in possession of the stolen bicycle. He was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

April 25

At about 4:47 a.m., an officer responded to Blend It Healthy, 411 E. Huntington Drive, regarding a commercial burglary report. An investigation revealed an unidentified suspect smashed the front glass door, looked at the register, and fled westbound empty handed. The suspect concealed himself with a hooded sweatshirt. The investigation is ongoing.

At approximately 1:35 p.m., an officer responded to the Arcadia Police Department front counter regarding a battery that occurred at the Arcadia Blues Club, 16 E. Huntington Drive. An investigation revealed the male suspect punched the victim in the face three times during a dispute. The suspect is described as a white male, in his late 40s, 5-feet-8-inches tall, and approximately 220 pounds. The investigation is ongoing.

April 26

Around 8:13 a.m., an officer responded to the 000 block of East Lemon Avenue regarding a theft from vehicle report. The officer determined an unknown suspect entered the vehicle through an unlocked door and stole the victim’s registration and insurance cards. No suspects were seen and no witnesses were located.

Just after 7:46 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 100 block of California Street regarding a male subject loitering in the area. The officer located the man and a records check revealed he was on parole. The officer noticed the 26-year-old male from Arcadia was under the influence of an alcoholic beverage, which is a violation of his parole. He also admitted to taking methadone, which is another violation of his parole. A parole compliance check of the suspect’s residence revealed alcohol and drug paraphernalia. He was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

April 27

Shortly after 3:04 a.m., an officer responded to Drive-In Liquor, 10 E. Huntington Drive, regarding an audible alarm activation. Surveillance footage revealed an unknown suspect forced open the rear door and fled the location when they could not bypass the metal security door. No loss was reported. The investigation is ongoing.

At about 1:46 p.m., an officer responded to the intersection of Santa Anita Avenue and Sierra Madre Boulevard regarding a sexual battery report. The victim stated an unknown male suspect inappropriately touched her buttock while she was waiting for the bus. The 62-year-old male from Los Angeles was located, arrested, and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

April 29

At about 2:18 a.m., an officer patrolling the 400 block of East Huntington Drive witnessed a red compact car traveling in excess of 70 miles per hour in a posted 30 mile per hour zone. The officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop, however the suspect driver increased his speed and a pursuit ensued. A witness directed officers to a nearby gas station where the suspect and his vehicle were located. The 22-year-old male from Glendora was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking. The vehicle was impounded for 30 days.

Just after 4:27 a.m., an officer responded to Pho Ha Vietnamese Restaurant, 411 E. Huntington Drive, regarding an activation of an Arcadia Police Department GPS tracker. An investigation revealed a 53-year-old male from Monrovia took the bicycle and fled the scene. He was located with the bicycle, arrested, and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

At approximately 11:07 a.m., officers received a license plate reader notification of a stolen vehicle in the area of Santa Anita Avenue and Colorado Boulevard. Officers followed the vehicle into a parking lot at 1 W. Duarte Road. The driver was contacted and found to be driving a stolen vehicle with an expired license and an outstanding misdemeanor warrant. The 47-year-old male from Pasadena was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

At about 9:06 p.m., an officer responded to the AMC Theater at the Santa Anita Mall, 400 S. Baldwin Ave., regarding a theft report. An investigation revealed an unknown suspect had crawled under the theater seats and stole a cosmetic bag containing $2,400 from the victim’s purse before fleeing the theater. The investigation is ongoing.

April 30 

Just after 12:22 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 000 block of Duarte Road for blocking lanes of traffic. Upon contacting the driver, the officer detected objective symptoms of intoxication. Through a series of tests, the officer determined the 26-year-old female from San Diego was driving under the influence of drugs. She also had a suspended license and drugs in her possession. Her passenger, a 31-year-old male from Temple City, was also found to be under the influence of drugs with several outstanding misdemeanor warrants for his arrest. Both suspects were arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

At approximately 6:23 p.m., an officer responded to JC Penney at the Santa Anita Mall, 400 S. Baldwin Ave., regarding a petty theft report. A loss prevention specialist witnessed the suspect conceal numerous items in a shopping bag before exiting the store, failing to make payment. The 19-year-old female from Los Angeles was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
