

Sheriff’s Homicide detectives continued to assist Alhambra Police Department personnel investigate the circumstances surrounding the officer-involved shooting that occurred on Friday, May 17, 2013 at 7:30 AM at the Alhambra police station. Investigators have learned that a man came into the station lobby carrying a large back pack. Officers made contact and attempted to communicate with him but he was unresponsive and non-coherent. The suspect produced a large knife from his back pack and a deputy-involved shooting occurred.
The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene. No officers were injured. No other details were immediately available.
