

On May 20, 27 year old male contacted Alhambra PD and informed them of the whereabouts of human skeletal remains in El Monte.
Sheriff’s Homicide Investigators responded and interviewed the individual, who led them to a residence in the 9400 block of Cortada Street, El Monte, where he said the remains were buried. Member’s of the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Special Operations Recovery Team responded, excavated the area and discovered human remains.
The identity of the deceased has not been determined. Positive identification and cause of death will be determined by Los Angeles County Department of Coroner personnel.
The informant was arrested and booked at El Monte Police Department for Murder and is being held in lieu of $1million bail.
The Suspect has been identified as Johnny Huynh, Asian male 27 of Rosemead.
A preliminary examination of the skeletal remans has led detectives to believe that the human remains are of an Asian female between the ages of 40 and 60.
The identification of the human remains is still pending through DNA testing conducted by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office and confirmed through the California Department of Justice.
