AB 144 – Open Carry Ban to be Considered by California State Senate Tuesday

The California State Senate will take up the issue of “Open Carry” guns when it considers Assemblymember Anthony Portantino’s AB 144 which would ban the carrying of unloaded handguns in any public place or street.
AB 144 will be heard in the Senate Public Safety Committee on Tuesday, June 7,
at 9:30 am, room 4203
” AB 144 makes it a misdemeanor punishable by up to six months in county jail and/or a fine of up to $1000 to carry an unloaded handgun in a public place.
” Creates exceptions for law enforcement, security guards, hunters, range shooting etc.
