Pasadena Village is excited to announce the exhibit of fresh and optimistic artist, Katie Arnold, 18 year old granddaughter of Village Member Victoria Bell. Katie discovered painting at the age of eight and as a freshman in high school, knew what she wanted to be in life. Katie, an artist, strives for her artwork to retain the innate, unrestrained creativity of childhood, constantly challenging herself to innovate, peel back the layers and return to the vulnerability of the inquisitive state of childhood, in order to tap into her raw creativity. Utilizing a wide variety of media, she seeks to discover the best material on which to paint to convey her ideas, even painting on a mirror so that the person looking in the mirror will not feel alone. Her hope is that her works of art, use of color and the materials of various textures will capture her personal goal of evoking emotions for her audience.
Katie is hoping to attend the ArtCenter College of Design in the fall.
An opening art reception will be held on Feb. 1, 2019 3 to 5 p.m. and will be on view in the Pasadena Village office through the end of February 2019.
