The Monrovia Chamber of Commerce has announced the recipients of its top awards this year. In a break with tradition, the award recipients of the Iris and Monroe Awards this year are not individuals, but rather entities. Receiving the Iris Award, the equivalent of Citizen of the Year, is the non-profit literacy foundation Monrovia Reads. The recipient of the Monroe Award for outstanding community work by a non-resident is Oak Crest Institute of Science.

A complete story outlining the other award recipients and information on the Chamber’s Installation of Officers Dinner in January at which time the awards will be presented will appear on MonroviaWeekly.com shortly and next week in the print edition.
