Gourdikian admits to lying on ATF form

A Sierra Madre man, who until earlier this year served as a lieutenant in the Pasadena Police Department, plead guilty to two federal felony offenses related to the illegal sale of more than 100 firearms over the course of three years.
Vasken Kenneth Gourdikian, 48, plead guilty to engaging in the business of dealing in firearms without a license, and making a false statement during the purchase of a firearm. He appeared before U.S. District Judge Stephen V. Wilson on Sept. 20 to formally enter guilty pleas to the two felony offenses.
When the U.S. Attorney’s Office first announced that Gourdikian planned to admit guilt, Pasadena City Manager Steve Mermell said Gourdikian had “not been an active member” of the police department. However, local news sources reported that Gourdikian collected almost $200,000 in pay while remaining in his position on paid leave more than a year after his home was searched by federal agents.
According to KTLA, prosecutors are recommending a 30-month prison sentence.
