Skywalker Grill, the signature full-service restaurant atop the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art will welcome diners starting Sept. 22, museum officials announced.
Skywalker Grill draws inspiration from George Lucas’ legendary Skywalker Ranch, pairing classic American cuisine with sweeping views overlooking Los Angeles, according to the museum.
Open to museum visitors and the public, Skywalker Grill offers guests lunch, dinner and weekend brunch. The restaurant will also remain open past museum hours.
“Skywalker Grill is a natural complement to the Lucas Museum experience, offering an inviting space for guests to connect over great food and conversation before or after visiting our galleries,” Tracey Bates, CEO of the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art, said in a statement. “We are equally excited for it to serve as a destination for Angelenos from across the city to enjoy exceptional hospitality and beautiful surroundings.”
Skywalker Grill’s menu is full of California-grown ingredients. Guests can begin with shareable dishes such as dungeness crab cakes and lobster corn dogs, before enjoying signature entrees including crispy chicken Milanese, honey miso glazed salmon and the Skywalker Ranch wagyu burger. House-made pastas, fresh seasonal salads and shareable starters round out the menu.
“We are incredibly honored to have been part of this remarkable project, and we set out to create a dining experience worthy of it,” said Katie Harel, managing director of Rhubarb Hospitality Collection and Oak View Group Hospitality, the restaurant operator. “The menu is inventive yet approachable, designed to welcome everyone. The restaurant’s beautiful interiors and thoughtful service were conceived to make it a true Los Angeles destination: a warm, museum-minded hospitality experience that keeps Angelenos and visitors coming back again and again. It is both a tribute to the museum’s creative energy and a wonderful reason to dine out.”
Skywalker Grill blends contemporary and mid-century modern influences with sculptural architectural forms, museum officials said. Cherry wood wraps the interior walls and ceiling in individually crafted panels and a central sculptural bar anchors the restaurant.
The restaurant features a private dining room with switch-glass walls that change from clear to frosted for additional privacy and an outdoor terrace nestled among lush landscaping.
