The annual municipal birthday celebration in Monrovia runs Thursday through Sunday in Old Town, with a 7 p.m. parade celebrating America’s 250th, the Route 66 centennial and a Western theme, city officials announced.
This year, participating schools will compete for the Monrovia Days Spirit Award for students who bring one of the three themes to life on the parade route.
Rides, games, live music, food including a pie-eating contest, inflatable jumpers and a photo booth are also features of the weekend event.
Wristbands for unlimited access start at $15 for a day. Presale pricing ends Thursday, event organizers said. Wristbands are available for purchase online or at the Monrovia Community Center. A free account is required to buy presale wristbands.
Two-day admission costs presale $25 or $30 “day of,” and three-day wristbands are $35 presale or $40 during the festival.
