161 ticketed Olympic Games events to occur in Long Beach

The Los Angeles Organizing Committee for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games (LA28) unveiled the Olympic competition schedule by event, outlining when every medal event will take place during the upcoming Olympic Games in Los Angeles. Long Beach will stage 11 Olympic sporting events, with 161 ticketed events to occur spanning 17 of the 19 days of the Olympic Games, including 35 final matches.

“This is an exciting moment for our community,” said Mayor Rex Richardson. “Long Beach residents will see our city come alive with energy and opportunity as we welcome visitors from around the globe. Together, we’ll deliver an unforgettable Olympic experience that showcases our iconic shoreline, our hospitality and the spirit of Long Beach to the world.”

The schedule for the 11 Olympic sporting events taking place in Long Beach include:

  • July 12-23, Water Polo at Long Beach Aquatics Center
  • July 12-28, Handball at Long Beach Arena
  • July 15-22, Rowing at Marine Stadium
  • July 15-25, Target Shooting at Long Beach Target Shooting Hall
  • July 15-29, Beach Volleyball at Alamitos Beach Stadium
  • July 16-20, Sailing (Windsurfing & Kite) in the waters along Belmont Shore
  • July 17-18, Open Water Swimming along Belmont Shore
  • July 24-25, Rowing Coastal Beach Sprints along Belmont Shore
  • July 24-29, Sport Climbing at Long Beach Climbing Theater
  • July 25-29, Artistic Swimming at Long Beach Aquatics Center
  • July 25-29, Canoe Sprint at Marine Stadium

The complete 2028 Olympic Games competition schedule is available at la28.org. Registration for LA28 Olympic Games tickets will begin in January 2026 on LA28.org.

Hosted by the City of Los Angeles, the 2028 Olympic Games will take place July 14 through July 30, 2028, and the 2028 Paralympic Games will take place Aug. 15 through Aug. 27, 2028. Long Beach will also stage seven sporting events for the Paralympic Games.
