Found: 76-year-old man who went missing in Koreatown

A Silver Alert that was issued on behalf of a 76-year-old man last seen in Koreatown has been deactivated now that he has been located, authorities said Saturday.

Simon Villatoro was last seen about 8 a.m. in the area of Fedora Street and James M. Wood Boulevard, near Robert F. Kennedy Community Schools, according to the California Highway Patrol, which issued the alert on behalf of the Los Angeles Police Department.

The CHP announced Villatoro was found at approximately 12:52 a.m. Saturday. No other details were available.

The Silver Alert program was established by the CHP  to issue and coordinate alerts involving the unexplained or suspicious disappearance of elderly, developmentally disabled or cognitively impaired individuals.
