Police Friday sought the public’s help to identify whoever killed a man whose bound body was found at a Woodland Hills residence.

Los Angeles Police Department officers were called about 5:30 p.m. Thursday to the residence in the 20200 block of Ventura Boulevard, near Taft High School, on reports of a battery and found the man dead at the scene with his feet tied together and his hands cuffed behind his back, according to a department statement. Police also found the man had strangulation marks on his neck.

The man’s name was not released, though the LAPD noted he was a 42-year-old resident of La Quinta in Riverside County.

An investigation into the man’s death revealed he had been staying at the residence since July 2021, though no further details were immediately available.

Anyone with information on the man’s death was asked to contact LAPD Valley Bureau Homicide at 818-374-1925. Calls made during non-business hours or on weekends can be directed to 877-527-3247.

Anonymous tips can be called in to Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477 or submitted online at lacrimestoppers.org.
