The city of Hermosa Beach announced Thursday it will resume in-person services next week that had been suspended due to surging COVID-19 cases.
City officials imposed limitations on in-person services on Dec. 29 due to a COVID-19 surge attributed to the easily spread Omicron variant of the virus. The limits were originally set to be lifted Jan. 18, but the city opted to extend them through the end of January.
On Thursday, the city announced that in-person services will resume at 7 a.m. Monday, noting that infection rates are “beginning to decline.” Officials noted, however, that many services are still available online or by telephone.
The Hermosa Beach City Council and city commissions will also continue with “hybrid” meetings, allowing the public to attend in person, online or by phone.
City officials noted that people accessing in-person services indoors are required to wear masks.
