Authorities Monday identified a young man who was struck and killed by a Metro L Line train in Monrovia.

Fabian Cano, 20, of Duarte was hit by the Los Angeles-bound train about 4:25 a.m. Friday near California Avenue and Duarte Road, and he died at the scene, according to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office and Metro.

Buses were brought in to ferry passengers between the Duarte and Arcadia stations while an investigation was conducted into the death on the L Line, formerly known as the Gold Line.
