The Monrovia Historical Society is hosting a Treasures Sale to raise funds for the Anderson House — one of the first 10 homes built in the city— which is in need of repairs.

The 1887 Queen Anne Victorian home was restored by volunteered and has been in the care of the Historical Society since. As expected with any older home, needed repairs have popped up since then.

In 2019, Hey SoCal took a tour of the Anderson House to see the building’s damaged roof. At the time, the Historical Society was attempting to raise $10,000 to install a new roof.

Though the Monrovia Historical Society succeeded in installing a new roof, it now looks to restore plaster and wallpaper in the home, shore up the foundation and more.

This sale will begin on Friday, June 11, 1–6 p.m., for Monrovia Historical Society members and on Saturday, June 12, 10 a.m.–3 p.m., for the public, at 215 E. Lime Ave.
