Pasadena Police Arrest Second Suspect in Murder, Attempted Murder of Two Duarte Residents

Pasadena police have arrested a second suspect in the drive-by shooting death of 24-year-old Duarte resident Ray Magee Jr. and the attempted murder of a 23-year-old Duarte resident.

The shooting occurred on Saturday, May 23, 2020, at approximately 4:11 p.m., on the 1500 block of North Lake Avenue. The Pasadena Police Department has concluded its investigation into this shooting.

Two suspects were identified by police in September 2020 and on Dec. 12, 2020, the case was presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for filing consideration.

Terrel Leonard Neal Jr., a 26-year-old Pasadena resident, was charged by the DA with one count of murder and one count of attempted murder. He was arrested on Dec. 29, 2020 and remains in custody. His bail was set at $2,035,000.

Dejon Ogletree, a 27-year-old Pasadena resident, was charged with one count of murder and one count of attempted murder. On April 8, 2021, with the assistance of the United States Marshal’s Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force, Ogletree was apprehended and remains in custody. His bail has been set at $2,400,000. Authorities located and recovered two firearms during the arrest.
