Three Gang Members Found Guilty in Pasadena Murder

Three gang members were found guilty by a jury today for the 2013 killing of a 21-year-old Pasadena man, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced. Deputy District Attorney Stefan Mrakich of the Hardcore Gang Division said Peter Parra, 37, of Pasadena; Kevin Jessie Cabrera, 27, of North Hollywood; and Raymond Frank Conchas, 26, of Covina were all found guilty of one count each of first-degree murder, attempted second-degree robbery and conspiracy to commit a crime. The defendants in case GA088733 face a sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole on April 17 in Department 127 of the Foltz Criminal Justice Center. The jury also found true the special circumstance allegation that the murder was committed during a robbery and allegations that a shotgun was used and the crime was for the benefit of a gang. On Jan. 15, 2013, Zane Goldstein agreed to meet the three defendants in an alleyway for a drug deal, according to evidence presented at trial. When the victim arrived, the defendants attempted to rob him and shot him in the head with a shotgun as he tried to escape near Maple Street and Chester Avenue. A fourth defendant, John Michael Piepoli, 21, was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole on Nov. 12, 2014 after also being found guilty of Goldstein’s murder. Ward Lacey IV, 20, has a jury trial scheduled on Feb. 23 for the same crime. Case GA088733 charges Lacey with one count each of first-degree murder, attempted second-degree robbery and conspiracy to commit a crime. The case was investigated by the Pasadena Police Department.
