The last thing one would expect in the working-class neighborhood of the 700 block of West Olive Avenue in Monrovia is Chamber Music, but that is what occurred. L.A. Curbside Entertainment gave what they dubbed a “Spooktacular” concert last Saturday night with appropriately themed Halloween music. One of the more popular pieces played was the score for the Alfred Hitchcock television series “The Alfred Hitchcock Hour.”

For more than an hour the chamber music orchestra played music from “The Phantom of the Opera,” “The Munsters,” and even prompted audience participation on the theme from “The Addams Family” (fingers snaps). It was especially good to get out of the house for an evening of socially distanced masked entertainment.

There will be two more Halloween concerts in La Crescenta on Oct. 30 and in Studio City on Oct. 31. For more information go to LAcurbsideenterainment.com.
