This year, due to health and safety restrictions regarding COVID-19, the 67th Arcadia Festival of Bands will take place on Saturday, Nov. 21, 2020 as a virtual parade. More than 12 schools from across Southern California with their band, color guard, drum majors, and drum line will participate. Historical videos from past Arcadia Festival of Bands will also be included.

“With all the challenges facing our community and the world as a whole during the COVID-19 pandemic, it was important for our students to march forward in their musical studies,” said Kevin Sherrill, band and percussion director at Arcadia High School. “The cancellation of public gatherings didn’t mean the cancellation of the spirit of this historic event,” added Tom Plunkett, Arcadia’s band director. “We have adapted and improvised, and we think it’s going to be a great program.”

Watch the virtual parade on Saturday, Nov. 21 at 10 am. at purplepass.com/afob2020.

There are still spots available for corporate sponsorship of the online virtual parade. Deadline for sponsorship is Nov. 6, 2020. If you have any sponsorship questions, contact afob.programs@arcadiamusic.org

The Arcadia Festival of Bands has grown to be one of the premiere band reviews in Southern California and is the longest-running event of its kind in the whole state. This sustained success is due to the continued support provided by the City of Arcadia, the Fire and Police Departments, the Arcadia Unified School District, Santa Anita Park and local businesses. The parade simply would not happen without their cooperation.
