Feb. 23
Shortly before 6:10 a.m., an officer responded to Wholecell Inc., located at 11725 Goldring Road, regarding a commercial burglary report. Surveillance footage revealed unidentified suspects pried open the main gate and forced their way through various doors and walls to ultimately steal numerous boxes of IPhone batteries and LCD screens. The suspects are described as three males in hooded sweatshirts. They fled in a white van. The investigation is ongoing.
At approximately 5:51 p.m., officers responded to the Santa Anita Race Track, located at 285 West Huntington Drive, regarding a domestic violence report. The officers discovered an argument between a boyfriend and girlfriend escalated when the male suspect grabbed the victim by the collar, threw her against the wall, and attempted to strangle her. The victim sustained minor visible injuries. A 45-year-old male from Arcadia was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Feb. 24
Just after 3:20 a.m., an officer initiated a traffic stop on a bicyclist near the intersection of Sunset Drive and Fairview Avenue for riding on the sidewalk without any lights. An investigation revealed the suspect was in possession of a shaved key and stolen credit and debit cards. One of the credit cards was stolen during a vehicle burglary within the City on December 18th of 2019. The 23-year-old male, from Pasadena, was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
At approximately 4:00 p.m., an officer responded to CVS, located at 188 Las Tunas Drive, regarding a fraud report. The officer discovered the suspect, a 20-year-old male from Alhambra, attempted to pass a fraudulent prescription for a controlled substance. The investigation is ongoing.
Feb. 25
Around 6:20 a.m., an officer responded to the 00 block of Las Tunas Drive regarding a grand theft report. An investigation revealed a Bobcat Skidsteer had been stolen from the location sometime during the previous night. Detectives recovered the Bobcat in Azusa, and the suspect was identified as a 35-year-old male from Azusa. The suspect was arrested on March 2nd and the investigation is ongoing.
Just before 4:50 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 1100 block of Fairview Avenue regarding a residential burglary report. The officer discovered the suspects smashed a rear sliding glass door, but they fled without entering the victim’s home. The investigation is ongoing.
Feb. 26
Around 2:00 a.m., officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Clark Street and Peck Road that was reported as a stolen vehicle. Upon contacting the driver, the officer noticed the steering column had been removed. A records check revealed the driver had never been issued a driver’s license. During a search of the vehicle, officers located a methamphetamine pipe and a shaved key. A 39-year-old male, from Covina, was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Shortly after 4:05 p.m., an officer responded to a parking lot in the 100 block of North Santa Anita Avenue regarding a theft from vehicle report. Sometime between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on February 26th, an unknown suspect stole one of the tires from a Toyota Camry. No suspects were seen and no witnesses were located.
Feb. 27
Before 9:05 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 1800 block of South Santa Anita Avenue regarding a fraud report. The victim discovered a fraudulent transaction on her credit card statement. The victim does not know how the suspect obtained their personal information or the identity of the suspect.
Around 4:20 p.m., an officer responded to a parking lot in the 100 block of East Foothill Boulevard regarding a vehicle burglary report. The officer determined the suspect smashed one of the windows and fled with the victim’s electronic equipment. No suspects were seen and no witnesses were located.
Feb. 28
At about 5:34 a.m., an officer responded to the intersection of First Avenue and Camino Real Avenue regarding a mail theft report. The reporting party located a large amount of discarded mail in the middle of the street. The mail belonged to three residents all with addresses on East Camino Real Avenue. The investigation is ongoing.
Just before 7:45 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 400 block of West Winnie Way regarding a vandalism report. Surveillance footage revealed a male suspect attempted to open the victim’s mailbox and when he was unsuccessful, he damaged the victim’s light fixture. The suspect fled in a dark colored truck. The investigation is ongoing.
Shortly after 10:48 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 1000 block of West Foothill Boulevard regarding a residential burglary report. An investigation revealed the suspect attempted to enter the attached garage by prying the door but he was unsuccessful. The suspect may have fled when the alarm activated. The investigation is ongoing.
Feb. 29
At approximately 7:08 a.m., an officer responded to the 200 block of North Second Avenue regarding a vandalism report. A rear wall adjacent to the wash was spray painted with graffiti. The investigation is ongoing.
