Shortly before 2:06 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Las Tunas Drive and Rosemead Boulevard for speeding. Upon contacting the driver, the officer detected a strong odor of alcohol emitting from the driver’s breath and noticed two open containers of alcohol in the vehicle. Through a series of tests, the officer determined the 26-year-old male from El Monte was driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. He also had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant and was driving with a suspended license. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking. A 23-year-old female passenger from South El Monte was cited and released at the scene for having an outstanding misdemeanor warrant.
Around 8:58 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 1600 block of La Ramada Ave. regarding a burglary. The officer discovered unidentified suspect(s) entered the residence through an open window, stole jewelry, a computer, and cash, before fleeing. The investigation is ongoing.
Oct. 31
At about 12:14 p.m., an officer responded to the Arcadia Police Department front counter regarding a fraud report. The officer discovered an unknown suspect obtained the victim’s check and altered it. The total loss was $1,900. The investigation is ongoing.
Just after 9:31 p.m., officers responded to the 5800 block of S. Baldwin Ave. regarding a vehicle burglary report. The victim reported seeing two suspects inside her vehicle. Both suspects were located nearby with the victim’s stolen property. A 21-year-old male from Pico Rivera and a 19-year-old male from Temple City were arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Nov. 1
Around 11:07 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 1000 block of El Caballo Drive regarding a domestic dispute. An investigation revealed a physical altercation occurred between a father and adult son, resulting in the son hitting his father. The father was not desirous of prosecution.
Nov. 2
Shortly after 10:50 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 2200 block of Highland Oaks Drive regarding a burglary report. The officer determined unknown suspect(s) stole a number of tools from the construction site sometime during the previous evening. No suspects were seen and no witnesses were located.
At about 9:43 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 100 block of W. Le Roy Ave. regarding a burglary report. An investigation revealed an unknown suspect entered the residence through an open window, stole cash, jewelry, and a purse, and fled undetected. No suspects were seen and no witnesses were located.
Nov. 3
At approximately 8:38 a.m., an officer conducted an enforcement stop on a vehicle in the 5400 block of Peck Road for a seatbelt violation. Upon contacting the driver, the officer noticed he displayed symptoms of drug use. A records check revealed the 33-year-old male from El Monte had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant. During a consensual search of the vehicle, the officer located a pipe commonly used to smoke methamphetamine. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Nov. 4
At about 12:10 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on two vehicles in the area of Longden Avenue and Baldwin Avenue for street racing. The officer witnessed the two vehicles driving in excess of 50 miles per hour on Baldwin Avenue, which has a speed limit of 40 miles per hour where the vehicles were racing. Both drivers, an 18-year-old male from El Monte and a 20-year-old male from Rosemead, were cited and released in the field. Both vehicles were impounded for 30 days.
Just before 7:31 a.m., an officer responded to the area of West Huntington Drive and Centennial Way regarding an injury collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. Upon contacting the driver, the officer detected a strong odor of alcohol emitting from his breath. Through a series of tests, the officer determined the 21-year-old male from Glendora was driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage and had a blood alcohol content of .22 percent. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking. Arcadia Fire transported the pedestrian to Huntington Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Around 3:22 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 1400 block of S. Fourth Ave. regarding two suspicious subjects in the backyard. An investigation revealed the 30-year-old male from Monrovia was in possession of a controlled substance and a 30-year-old male from Arcadia was in possession of stolen property and drug paraphernalia. Both were arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
At approximately 8:29 p.m., an officer responded to the Arcadia Police Department front counter regarding a grand theft report that occurred at a residence in the 00 block of E. Longden Ave. The victim’s former tenant failed to make his rent payment, moved out, and when the victim inspected his home, he discovered his chandelier had been stolen. The investigation is ongoing.
Nov. 5
Shortly after 12:06 p.m., an officer responded to the Santa Anita Mall, 400 S. Baldwin Ave., regarding an activation of an Arcadia Police Department GPS tracker. Arcadia PD detectives had previously deployed decoy bicycles containing tracking devices to combat the increase in bike thefts throughout the city. An investigation revealed a 31-year-old male from West Covina was in possession of the stolen bicycle and tracker. He was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
At approximately 7:22 p.m., an officer responded to the intersection of Huntington Drive and Colorado Place regarding a family disturbance report. Witnesses reported seeing a mother choking her 10-year-old son. The officers discovered the 36-year-old mother from El Segundo had struck her son numerous times and also had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant. She was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking. The juvenile son was transported to Arcadia Methodist Hospital for evaluation. DCFS was notified.
