Community Health Alliance of Pasadena (ChapCare) is a high-quality health center that provides communities of the San Gabriel Valley with affordable healthcare services. The always up-to-date facility was established in 1995 and has grown healthy relationships with SGV communities, as they now have a total of seven locations: four in Pasadena, two in El Monte, and the newest facility in Monrovia, ChapCare Lime.
As of Aug. 3, members of the Monrovia community, as well as neighboring cities such as Duarte and Arcadia, can experience high-quality healthcare for their entire family. The center has the ability to care for women’s health, men’s health, pediatric, dental, and vision. For those who suffer from mental illnesses, ChapCare also provides mental healthcare, such as counseling and group therapy.
The state-of-the-art facility welcomes low-income community members to receive the highest grade of healthcare, despite having low finances. “We believe everyone should be treated with proper care, regardless of financial difficulties,” said Marketing Supervisor Kevin Reed.
Another primary focus of ChapCare is to provide people with easy access health insurance. For many, navigating through their healthcare plan is often considered a daunting task, let alone enrolling. “The purpose of having medical coverage is to be able to use it at your convenience for checkups, screenings, and any other health related needs,” Reed said. ChapCare not only simplifies the process of using medical insurance, but the community-oriented center also invites residents to its facilities for free health insurance screenings and enrollment.
Families can come to ChapCare to be guided through the easy process of finding the medical coverage plan that is right for all members of the family, including plans with Medi-Cal, Medicare and Covered CA. The center’s efforts are visibly benefiting as they have enrolled more than 4,000 people in a Covered CA healthcare plan over the last two years.
ChapCare’s newest facility in Monrovia, which was formerly occupied by the Bill Moore Community Health Clinic, has been completely renovated to bring top-tier medical equipment to the city. Unlike most universal healthcare offices, ChapCare provides patients with a personal experience. The lobby, office, and all checkup rooms are designed to look and feel similar to a private doctor’s office, which is helpful in showing patients that they matter. The Monrovia ChapCare is also located blocks away from the Foothill Unity Center, which is convenient as the two often work closely to care for community members.
In efforts to share its beneficial services with Monrovia residents, ChapCare has participated in different outreach events, such as National Health Care Week. During the event, the facility contributed free preventative and health maintenance screenings for entire families. ChapCare also looks forward to being a part of the Monrovia Association of Fine Art’s 52nd Annual Celebrate the Arts Show Sept. 26th and 27th.
