Arcadia Police Department Weekly Activity Report
May 3
Just before 10:50 a.m., an officer conducted an enforcement stop on a vehicle in the area of Golden West Avenue and Fairview Avenue for an obstructed rear license plate. An investigation revealed the vehicle was an unreported stolen vehicle out of the City of Pasadena, and the passenger provided false identifying information to the officer. Both the 32-year-old Hispanic male driver and 33-year-old white female passenger were arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
At approximately 2:06 p.m., officers responded to the soccer field at 240 West Huntington Drive regarding a fight in progress. The officers discovered a group of mothers and daughters fighting after a soccer game. None of the involved parties required medical attention. The victims were non-desirous of prosecution.
May 4
At about 1:35 p.m., an officer responded to 240 West Huntington Drive regarding a vandalism report. The officer determined unknown suspect(s) intentionally broke ten windows of the City Hall building sometime during the weekend. No suspects were seen and no witnesses were located.
At approximately 5:13 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 1000 block of West Duarte Road regarding a package theft report. An investigation revealed a 43-year-old Hispanic female attempted to steal numerous packages from the victim’s porch. The victim confronted the suspect and blocked the suspect’s vehicle from leaving with his own vehicle until police arrived. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
May 5
Around 2:16 a.m., an officer conducted an enforcement stop on a vehicle in the area of Santa Anita Avenue and Longden Avenue for speeding. Upon contacting the driver, the officer noticed the 22-year-old Hispanic male was driving with a suspended license and had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking. His vehicle was impounded for 30 days.
Just after 1:01 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 1800 block of South Eighth Avenue regarding a suspicious circumstances report. The victim stated she scared off two suspects seen in her backyard. They fled southbound in an awaiting white sedan. The suspects were described as thin males wearing red hooded sweatshirts.
May 6
Shortly after 8:15 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 800 block of Southview Road regarding a theft report. The officer discovered the 16-year-old victim fell asleep while having friends over at his house. When he awoke, he found his wallet, cell phone, iPad, and cash missing. The investigation is ongoing.
At about 4:10 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 2200 block of South Eighth Avenue regarding a burglary report. An investigation revealed an unknown suspect smashed a rear window, ransacked the home, and fled undetected. The total loss was valued at $500. No suspects were seen and no witnesses were located.
May 7
At approximately 12:00 p.m., an officer responded to a parking lot of the Westfield Shopping Town, 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a theft report. A witness reported seeing an unknown suspect underneath the victim’s vehicle with a wrench. The victim returned to her vehicle and noticed her catalytic converter had been removed from her Toyota truck. No other witnesses were located. The investigation is ongoing.
Around 3:56 p.m., officers responded to the 000 block of East Foothill Boulevard regarding a male suspect brandishing a knife at another male. Officers determined the two males were arguing when the 17-year-old Asian male pulled a knife and threatened the victim. The suspect returned to his vehicle and fled. Officers located the suspect during an area check. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
May 8
Just after 12:24 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 700 block of West Huntington Drive for having expired registration. Upon contacting the driver, the officer discovered she was on probation for narcotics and had an outstanding felony warrant. A consensual search of the vehicle produced a bag of methamphetamine, a digital scale, and packaging baggies. The 48-year-old white female was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
At about 6:29 p.m., an officer responded to Santa Anita Race Track, 285 West Huntington Drive, regarding an auto burglary report. The victim noticed his rear window had been pried open and his third row seat had been stolen. No suspects were seen and no witnesses were located.
May 9
Just after 6:28 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 1000 block of West Duarte Road regarding a battery report. An investigation revealed the female subject’s current boyfriend and ex-boyfriend engaged in a physical altercation resulting in a friend of the ex-boyfriend hitting the new boyfriend in the face with a speaker. The victim did not seek medical attention. The investigation is ongoing and the suspect is outstanding at the time of this report.
At approximately 3:53 p.m., an officer responded to Macy’s at the Westfield Shopping Town, 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a petty theft report. Loss prevention personnel witnessed the 55-year-old Hispanic female conceal numerous items in shopping bags before exiting the store, failing to make payment. The suspect committed the crime with her 6-year-old daughter present. DCFS was notified. The suspect was cited and released in the field due to medical issues.
