The Shabby Dog, Sierra Madre, is slated to host its first pet adoption day on Saturday, June 30, 2012. Partnering with Homeless to Forever Foundation, The Shabby Dog will open its store doors for animal lovers and pet adopters to come and fall in love and give the lovable creatures much-needed permanent homes. Adoption day will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at The Shabby Dog boutique.
The pets available for adoption will be female and male dogs, small to medium-sized, ranging in age from young to senior. There will also be cats between 5 months to a year old. All the animals are vaccinated, microchipped, spayed and neutered. These pets will be provided through Homeless to Forever Foundation, and there will be volunteers available to answer questions. Homeless to Forever Foundation located in Arcadia, California is a not-for-profit foundation the rescues animals from local high-kill shelters. It rescues high-risk animals in danger of being euthanized due to over-crowding in various facilities.
“Hosting a pet adoption at The Shabby Dog is something I have wanted to get involved in for a long time. I used to breed dogs and finally said no more! Knowing there are so many wonderful pets needing good homes and families to love them, it felt like the right thing to do,” says Sandy Lewis-Duvall, owner of The Shabby Dog.
The Shabby Dog is located on 31 East Montecito Avenue, Sierra Madre.
