Sunday, June 10:
At approximately 12:20 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a white GMC Suburban for expired registration, on Floral Avenue at First Avenue. An investigation revealed the driver had a suspended license, and was in possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. The 42-year-old Black female was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Around 4:53 p.m., an officer responded to Easy Spirit at the Santa Anita Mall, 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a theft report. Unknown suspect(s) opened the victim’s purse and removed her wallet while she was trying on a pair of shoes. She had placed her purse on the floor and turned her back momentarily. The suspect(s) fled undetected.
Monday, June 11:
At about 8:06 a.m., an online police report was received in regards to an identity theft. The victim explained he has been living abroad since 2007 and discovered his old Arcadia address has been receiving an increasing amount of mail in his name. A credit check revealed unknown suspect(s) opened several unauthorized credit card accounts using his personal information.
Shortly after 1:50 p.m., officers responded to Las Tunas Drive and Baldwin Avenue regarding a two-party traffic accident. While traveling on Las Tunas Drive, Party-2 slowed down to make a right turn into a parking lot when she was sideswiped by Party-1. An investigation revealed Party-1 attempted to pass Party-2 on the left side, but did not have sufficient clearance. No injuries were reported.
Tuesday, June 12:
Around 4:30 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Baldwin Avenue and the 210 freeway. Dispatch advised a reporting party saw a male subject striking a female adult in the back seat. While the assault allegation was unfounded, a 36-year-old Hispanic male passenger had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant. Further investigation revealed the driver, a 28-year-old Hispanic male, was in possession of narcotics. Both were arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
At approximately 8:45 p.m., officers responded to a traffic collision in the area of Live Oak Avenue and Sixth Avenue. A driver, determined to be under the influence of alcohol, struck another vehicle while traveling westbound on Live Oak Avenue and fled the scene. He drove into the Albertsons parking lot, 298 E. Live Oak Avenue, and onto East Live Oak Avenue where he hit a parked vehicle. The 57-year-old White male was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking. No injuries were reported.
Wednesday, June 13:
At about 12:00 p.m., officers responded to the 000 block of West Huntington Drive regarding a battery in progress. An investigation revealed a juvenile physically attacked his father because he was restricted from playing video games. The juvenile had already fled the scene when officers arrived at the location. The Arcadia Fire Department responded and treated the father’s injuries.
The juvenile was later brought into the Arcadia Police Department by his mother. The 17-year-old Korean male was arrested, booked, and transported to the Eastlake Juvenile Detention Center. The case was forwarded to the Department of Children and Family Services for further investigation.
At approximately 2:35 p.m., officers were dispatched to Macy’s at the Santa Anita Mall, 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a theft report. A subject concealed merchandise inside her purse and exited the store without making payment. The 44-year-old Asian female was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Thursday, June 14:
Shortly after 1:45 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a Jeep Cherokee for speeding and lane swerving in the area of Santa Anita Avenue and Foothill Boulevard. An investigation revealed the driver was under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol level greater than .08 percent. The 24-year-old White female was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Between 1:05 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., unknown suspect(s) burglarized a garage in the 100 block of Fano Street. The suspect(s) removed the DVD/GPS system and wheels from the victim’s vehicle, and fled undetected. The victim realized he left his garage and vehicle unlocked.
Friday, June 15:
At about 2:00 p.m., an officer made contact with a male subject at Motel 6, 225 Colorado Place, in reference to an outstanding arrest warrant. An investigation revealed the subject was also in possession of methamphetamine. The 46-year-old Hispanic male was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Around 2:51 p.m., officers responded to the Orleans Corner Restaurant, 411 East Huntington Drive, in regards to a vandalism report. A disgruntled former employee visited the location to pick-up his last paycheck. Afterwards, he broke an outdoor patio chair by throwing it onto the ground and fled the scene.
Saturday, June 16:
At approximately 10:45 a.m., a female victim was walking northbound in the 700 block of South First Avenue when a black compact vehicle pulled alongside her. As the victim turned her head towards the vehicle, she observed a male subject exposing himself and masturbating. The suspect, described as having dark short hair and wearing dark clothing, fled northbound out of sight. An area check for the suspect was unsuccessful.
At about 3:20 p.m., an officer responded to the 1000 block of West Duarte Road regarding a burglary investigation. The victim explained she returned home and attempted to enter her front door but discovered the interior security chain had been fastened, blocking her entry. As she walked toward the side of her apartment, the victim discovered her bedroom window screen was off and a window was open. The victim entered her residence through the window and discovered an unknown subject taking a shower inside her bathroom. The victim yelled at the subject who then exited the bathroom, grabbed the victim’s car keys, and fled out the front door. The suspect is described as a Black female, approximately 40-years-old, 5’11” tall, 170 lbs., with flower tattoos on both sides of her face, wearing a blue or green t-shirt and capri pants. Further inspection revealed the suspect also used the victim’s kitchen and ransacked her bedroom. No additional property was reported missing.

Vehicle Burglary
June 4 at 5:24 p.m., a vehicle burglary was reported in the 400 block of West Colorado. The vehicle, a Toyota Corolla, was parked in the victim’s driveway. The victim did not remember if the vehicle was locked. In the morning, the victim noticed money and a phone charging cord was taken. There was no damage to the car. Investigation continuing.
Vehicle Tampering
June 5 at 5:19 a.m., an officer responded to a hotel the 900 block of Huntington regarding vehicle tampering. A guest at the hotel walked out to his parked vehicle and found a man inside his car. The suspect was described as a male Hispanic, approximately 30 years old, 6 foot tall, thin build, brown hair, full beard, long single braid to the middle of his back. The victim’s vehicle was unlocked and there was no loss.
Vehicle Burglary
June 5 at 6:42 a.m., a vehicle burglary was reported in the 200 block of East Walnut. A suspect(s) broke the driver-side window of the victims van. They stole the victim’s iPad that was left visible on the inside of the van. The vehicle was parked in an assigned parking space in the complex. Investigation continuing.
Theft From a Vehicle
June 5 at 7:23 p.m., a theft from an unlocked vehicle was reported. The victim lives in the 200 block of East Lime, but he is unsure where the theft occurred. His golf GPS was taken from his vehicle console. Investigation continuing.
Residential Burglary
June 6 at 8:39 a.m., a residential burglary was reported in the 1000 block of Royal Oaks. Suspect(s) entered an unlocked storage garage and stole the victim’s road bikes. Investigation continuing.
Grand Theft
June 7 at 7:43 a.m., an officer was dispatched to a transit lot in the 1600 block of South Primrose regarding a theft of property. The theft occurred sometime between 6:00 p.m. on May 22 and 5:00 a.m. on May 23. Small spools of copper wire and several car batteries were taken from the lot. Investigation continuing.
Sexual Battery
June 8 at approximately 1:19 p.m., a 17-year-old female was walking south on Magnolia at about Cypress. She heard footsteps coming from behind her, but did not turn around. Suddenly, she felt someone grab her buttocks and crotch area from behind. She stopped, and the suspect ran past her on the left side. The suspect is described as a male Hispanic, early 30’s, 5 foot 7 inches tall, thick medium-length black hair, full beard, wearing a brown shirt and light blue jeans. Investigation continuing.
Deadly Weapon With Intent to Assault – Suspect Arrested
June 8 at 7:15 p.m., officers responded to a park in the 300 block of South Myrtle regarding a suspicious person carrying a sword. Officers detained the suspect, who was carrying a two-and-a-half-foot-long metal sword. The suspect had been involved in an altercation with gang members at the park a week prior and had returned to the park with the sword. The suspect was subsequently arrested for the above listed charge.
Bear Incident
June 9 at 2:00 p.m., a large bear was struck by a vehicle at Mayflower and Hillcrest. The vehicle was not damaged, but the bear had injuries that required him to be tranquilized by Monrovia Animal Control and the Department of Fish and Game. It was determined that the bear’s injuries were minor, a broken nose and tooth, and should heal in a few days. The bear was released back into the wilderness area above Canyon Park.
