The Pasadena Tournament of Roses is now accepting applications for the 2027 Rose Court, the organization announced Monday.
Members of the court for the annual Rose-themed parade and college football bowl game serve as ambassadors for the Tournament of Roses, the Pasadena community and the greater Los Angeles area, Tournament officials said. Court members participate in community activities and gain experiences designed to build self-confidence and encourage service.
“We’re looking for applicants who bring diverse strengths and perspectives — whether they’re natural public speakers, youth leaders, academic stars or community and school leaders,” according to a statement from the Tournament of Roses.
Applicants need not have every quality because Rose Court members are chosen to represent a diverse panel of ambassadors, event organizers said.
Each Rose Court member receives a $7,500 scholarship.
Eligible applicants must live and attend school full time in the Pasadena Area Community College District or one of seven additional eligible ZIP codes, including in Eagle Rock, Highland Park, San Gabriel and Alhambra.
Initial applicant interviews are set for Sept. 5 and Sept. 8 at the Tournament House, 391 S. Orange Grove Blvd. in Pasadena.
Officials said the 2027 Rose Court will be announced Sept. 28, with the 108th Rose Queen to be crowned Oct. 27.
Next year’s Rose Court will process down Colorado Boulevard during the 138th Rose Parade and attend the College Football Playoff quarterfinal at the 113th Rose Bowl Game, both set for Jan. 1.

PToR signs with UTA
The Tournament of Roses announced last week it has acquired representation by United Talent Agency.
The Beverly Hills-based agency will represent the Pasadena Tournament of Roses and the Rose Parade as the nonprofit organization seeks to broaden the reach of one of the region’s most enduring New Year’s Day traditions.
“The Tournament of Roses proudly produces both the Rose Parade and the Rose Bowl Game, creating one of the most recognized New Year’s Day celebrations in the world,” PToR CEO David Eads said in a statement. “UTA brings deep expertise at a time of rapid change across the media industry, and we look forward to working together to ensure the Rose Parade continues to thrive for generations to come.”
The Rose Parade and its floral floats, marching bands, equestrian units and musical performers have appeared annually in Pasadena for over 135 years.
Last year’s event generated 34 million domestic viewers across linear television and streaming platforms, including 27 million traditional television viewers, 2.2 million streaming viewers and 5.2 million TikTok viewers, according to the Tournament of Roses.
“The Rose Parade has become a defining New Year’s Day tradition for millions of viewers worldwide,” UTA Partners Ryan Hayden, Jerry Silbowitz and David Kirsch said in a statement. “We’re thrilled to partner with the Tournament of Roses on this iconic event.”
Tournament officials said the parade is broadcast domestically and in more than 70 countries.
